    POSITION OVERVIEW

     

    FBC’s Corporate Processor plays a key role in ensuring our commitment to providing superior service to our business Members is met.

    The Corporate Processor role is a technical, task-oriented one requiring keen attention to detail and a strong service orientation. The Corporate Processor performs various tasks and functions including preparing accurate financial statements using data collected from our Members by the field representatives; identifying errors or potential problems in those reports; setting up opening balance sheets and preparing adjusting entries from a bookkeeping report; and being a key contact to answer questions or resolve concerns.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

     

    • Prepare accurate financial statements, identify errors and potential problems from bookkeeping reports
    • Prepare adjusting entries from bookkeeping reports
    • Review Corporate Income Tax returns for accuracy based on the above information
    • Make effective and efficient decisions on errors, omissions and problems that are brought forward or discovered, escalating as necessary
    • Track file progression to ensure filing deadlines are met
    • Build trusting and credible relationships over the phone and in person with FBC Members, Accounting Teams, subject-matter experts, and other stakeholders who rely on the knowledge that you provide
    • Analyze overall quality of field representative work and report to the team on trends or issues
    • Lead by example through technical expertise, mentoring, and focus on the quality of work
    • Be available to all customers – both internal staff and Members, third parties (banks, lawyers, CRA) to answer questions or resolve concerns that arise

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and Experience

     

    • A diploma or degree in accounting – or equivalent experience in accounting and/or taxes
    • Experience with preparing financial statements
    • Familiarity with Canadian Income Tax preparation plus GST and Payroll experience is an asset
    • Working towards a CPA/CMA designation is an asset

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

     

    • Technical and practical skills in accounting and bookkeeping including in the preparation of financial statements
    • Superior organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
    • Expert interpersonal skills demonstrated through your ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties
    • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office Products
