Learning and Development Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager, with a strong background in planning, implementing and leading organizational learning in various forms. The ideal candidate will have a keen business sense, enjoy researching, have a passion for designing programs and managing projects, and demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration.
Working closely with FBC leaders and reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Learning and Development Manager will oversee organizational learning and development for all levels of employees in the organization. This will include evaluating the current state, identifying gaps, conducting needs assessments, and designing and implementing new learning and development in the organization. You will also develop metrics to monitor and track individual and organizational progress - with the outcome of having organizational competencies aligned with business strategies and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop organizational goals and metrics to improve upon learning and development in the organization.
- Conduct learning needs assessments to identify learning gaps and opporunities and make reccomendations that align with business objectives.
- Design, develop and implement end-to-end learning programs.
- Conduct annual competency gap analysis for current and future business needs; develop new or augment existing curriculum to close gaps and prepare for future business needs.
- Develop and implement new methods of delivering content in a geographically dispersed workforce such as E-learning, blended and self-directed learning.
- Prepare and present an annual training plan & budget to the leadership team.
- Partner with FBC senior leaders to create a culture of continuous learning.
- Partner with FBC leaders to prioritize learning projects and implement a yearly learning strategy.
- Manage the performance and development of the learning team.
- Mange yearly curriculum to ensure materials are current and compliant with legislation.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to ensure materials are updated and prepared to facilaite learning sessions.
- Partner with third party vendors to implement and manage learning systems and programs.
What You Will Bring
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in leading organizational learning programing including delivering workplace learning to a geographically distributed workforce.
- 3+ years overseeing the development and implementation of E-learning and online learning management systems.
- Practical and creative experience implementing education principles.
- Proven project management experience.
- Proven ability to execute strategies using an organized approach and effective methods.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively implement change while maintaining productivity and efficiency of self and those impacted by the change.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to present in both formal and informal settings.
- Advanced facilitation skills, both in a classroom setting and while engaging others in pursuing/achieving a goal.
- Working knowledge of learning management systems.
- Working knowledge of a variety of content delivery methods including E-learning, blended and self-directed learning.
- Organized self-starter who takes ownership and accepts accountability for results and for meeting standards.
- Proven ability to teach and mentor peers and direct reports.
- Confident and creative problem solver.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office/Open Office application skills.
