Position Overview

We are seeking a Tax Technician to join our team and support clients by providing accurate and timely tax preparation services. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations while identifying opportunities to maximize tax savings for our clients.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with clients to understand their unique financial situations and deliver tailored tax solutions. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping individuals and businesses meet their tax obligations while optimizing their financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional tax and accounting advice to Clients. 
• Foster strong relationships with Clients.
• Maintain expert knowledge of corporate and personal tax returns, including software applications and CRA requirements.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or business.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Familiarity with corporate tax is considered a strong asset.
• Experience preparing tax returns for farms and small businesses is highly valued.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software, ideally Taxprep and Xero. Knowledge of iFirm is a plus.
• Exceptional client service skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• A track record of consistently meeting deadlines.
